Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the ScreenGenius macOS application ("the App") developed by alex zhong ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to download and use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, solely for your personal or internal business purposes.
You may not: copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App; reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App; or use the App for any unlawful purpose.
The App does not include any AI API subscription or credits. To use AI analysis features, you must supply your own API key from a supported third-party AI provider (e.g., OpenAI, OpenRouter) or run a compatible local server (e.g., Ollama). You are solely responsible for all costs, usage, and compliance associated with your API key and chosen AI provider.
The App requires Screen Recording permission to function. By granting this permission you authorise the App to capture images of your screen solely for the purpose of submitting them to the AI endpoint you configure. You are responsible for ensuring that any content you capture and send to a third-party AI service complies with applicable laws and the terms of that service.
The App connects to third-party AI APIs at your direction. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of responses from those services. Your use of any third-party service is governed by that service's own terms and privacy policy.
You agree not to use the App to:
The App and all of its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of alex zhong. You may not use our trademarks or trade dress in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.
The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. Do not rely on AI analysis for critical decisions without independent verification.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall alex zhong be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App (if any).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless alex zhong from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt arising from: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any third-party right.
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the App at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which alex zhong operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
